Today’s quote is one that is kind of difficult for me to pursue. Saying that you can do it is much easier than believing, whole-heartedly, that you can.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;

Before you were born I sanctified you;

I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Jeremiah 1:5

FOCUS ON WHAT YOU CAN DO

“Be who you are right now,”

Bo Peep from Toy Story 4

I don’t know about you, but, just like Duke Kaboom, I sometimes tell myself I am not good enough. I find all the flaws about me and decide that I am not capable of what I want to do. There are even times that I tell myself that I can’t do what God is calling me to do. The problem is, I look to the world to define me and forget that God is the one who created me. I forget that I do have a purpose. You and I both have a purpose that was created just for us by our creator.

So, what does it mean to be who you are right now? To me, this means that I need to stop coming up with everything that I can’t do and start thinking of what I can do.

JUST BE WHO YOU ARE

When God called me into the ministry, I had every reason in the world on why I was NOT the person for it. Even though I knew that God called the unqualified, I still felt like someone else needed to take my place. I came up with excuse after excuse. “I was too qualified, too young, and just not the one right for the job.” I began believing that these lies were true.

After an abundance of prayers, I realized that I just need to be who I am right now. I needed to stop looking at what I couldn’t do and start looking at what I could. Although this was, and still is, one of the hardest things I will ever do, it’s all God wants. God wants me to be who I am right now and stop waiting to be someone who I may never be. I may never be in, what I consider, the perfect place to share the Gospel. The perfect moment may never come. I just have to be who I am right now and work with what I have right now.

I encourage you this week to stop thinking about what you can’t do and start thinking about what you can do. Be who you are right now! You know that thing that God is calling you to do, don’t keep putting it aside. Use what you have and pursue your calling today. If you be who you are right now, you can achieve anything! Believe that you can do it!
